The last art4emotion event took place via an online connection with a large participation of consortium members and external people interested in learning more about the project.
The event started with a summary of the work done during the two years of the project by Cristian Londoño, project manager of Café de las Artes Teatro. Cristian gave way to the interventions of the representatives of each of the schools and CCO's:
Luis Valero, from Escola Virolai, highlighted the ‘great experience that the common creation of the Toolbox and the implementation of the atelier has meant’. He also pointed out that it was positive to start the atelier the first week of September, to break the ice between the new students.
Armelle Lallemand spoke on behalf of La Xixa Teatre, who commented on the positive experience of the ateliers developed by the artists selected by the structure. The work could be seen in the storytelling recorded during the atelier, where the artists carried out activities such as The Superman or the Social Theatre.
From Gaiac (Portugal), Guilherme Magalhães shared how much they had learned from the project and especially how important it was to work with pupils who had not previously experienced working with emotions through artistic disciplines. The artist José Cambra also shared his experience.
On behalf of the ESPF school, Carla Gabriela Sousa intervened with an enlightening intervention about the benefits of the project in her institution located in Paços de Ferreira. In the storytelling during the workshops we could appreciate the involvement of the students and the opinions of the artists and teachers who participated.
From Italy, on behalf of the Materahub consortium, Giulia Fornari spoke, narrating the contents of some of the ateliers in which the students had the opportunity to deal with important issues such as environmental awareness, expressing their emotions in a FANCINE, and participated in the Social Theatre atelier. ‘Theatre helps to free them from so much technology’.
Maria Vena, from IIS Duni-Levi school, said that her participation in the project has been a 'unique opportunity to work with the artists and other professionals', adding dynamics such as problem-solving through new ways of implementing activities and getting the pupils involved. Anna Maria Guarino, also a teacher, talked about the emotional wellness addressed in the activities, and gave way to a storytelling filmed by a group of students from the Liceo Artístico, where images from both workshops could be seen.
On behalf of the Altamira school in Cantabria (ES), Paz González said that 'working with the artists had been the most exciting part of the project'. As a self-evaluation of the development of the ateliers, she shared that in some cases they had to divide the groups in order to work better with the students. In his subsequent participation, Cristian Londoño spoke on behalf of Café de las Artes Teatro, sharing the selection of the three artists who taught the ateliers and the common experience where they believe that the activities should be more extensive in time in order to be able to reap fruits, and thus be included in the annual curricula of the educational centres. Cristian gave way to the storytelling recorded by the CdAT team, which includes the testimonies of the artists Carmen Gómez, Carlos Peguero and Alicia Trueba.
The meeting continued with the Q&A session where topics such as ‘the relevance of the arts in the educational curriculum of schools’, ‘key factors identified after the art4emotion experience’, ‘the effectiveness of the material developed during the project’ or ‘the benefits of the project for all the target groups involved’ were discussed.
The event was attended by 70 people and was recorded for later consultation.
